Fresco means fresh. In Spanish it means something more than that: a feeling, an experience. This is the base package we offer, and we do not compromise on the service in it.
A groom can be sold as a base price and then a list of extras, each one another line on the bill. Fresco goes the other way. The things a dog actually needs are already in it, chosen as one set rather than sold one at a time.
Every Fresco starts with shampoo and conditioner selected to meet your dog’s specific coat needs, then a blueberry eye-stain facial for the tear staining around the eyes, and teeth brushing with dental gel and mouth spray.
Blow-drying is by hand, start to finish, and never a cage dryer. The fifteen minutes of brushing are timed, not a quick pass with a comb. Nails are clipped, filed, or both, and ears are cleaned in every Fresco, never as an upgrade.
Your dog goes home with paw balm worked into dry, worn pads, a bandana, and a light finish of cologne.

Hydrating mask treatment
A nourishing treatment designed to restore moisture and softness to dry or dull coats. The hydrating mask helps condition the skin and coat, improve manageability, and leave your dog’s fur soft, smooth, and refreshed.
Medicated oatmeal treatment
A soothing treatment designed for dogs with dry, sensitive, or irritated skin. This gentle oatmeal-based treatment helps calm and moisturize the skin while leaving the coat clean, soft, and comfortable.
Mud bath treatment
Cooling and soothing for itchy, irritated or dry skin. It moisturises while it exfoliates, lifting dead skin and dandruff, and helps skin that has reacted to insect bites. The right formula for your dog’s skin gets chosen at the appointment.

Creative Grooming
Add a little personality to your pet with pet-safe, temporary color and creative designs. Our creative grooming services use specially formulated pet-safe dyes that can last up to approximately two weeks, depending on the coat and care at home.
Colors are designed as fun accents on areas such as ears and tails. We also offer temporary pet-safe tattoos for an extra touch of fun and creativity.
Requirements
Before you book
Proof of rabies vaccination is required before any service. Text a photo of the certificate showing your dog’s name and the due date.
Muzzles. Fresh Tails does not groom dogs who require a muzzle to be handled safely.
Medical conditions. If grooming could make an existing condition worse, a veterinary groomer is the safer choice, and you will get that recommendation honestly.
A signed grooming release form is emailed once your appointment is confirmed and must be completed before you arrive.

Common questions
How long does an appointment take?
Anywhere from about forty five minutes to three hours, depending on your dog.
Why is the price different for my dog?
Coat, size and how long the work takes. You get a firm price at check-in, after a hands-on look at your dog, and nothing gets added without asking you first.
How is my dog dried?
By hand, with a handheld dryer, from start to finish. No dog is left alone with equipment running.
Will my dog be in a kennel?
There are two, and they are used for the few minutes when one appointment overlaps the next. Your dog is not spending the day in one. Grooming itself is one dog on the table at a time.
What is the space like?
It is a converted garage set up as a salon. A professionally installed mini split holds the temperature, the table is a Paw Brothers electronic lift under a year old, the tub is stainless steel rated to 400 pounds, and the clippers and shears are high-end and professionally sharpened. A car parks in there too. Come see it before you book if you want to.
Do you offer boarding or daycare?
Not anymore. Fresh Tails is grooming only now. Older reviews online mention boarding, and that is why.
My dog is anxious. Can you work with that?
Often, yes, and it is a large part of the practice here. One dog on the table and a quiet room remove most of what makes grooming stressful. Call or text first so the appointment can be set up for your dog specifically.
Do you groom senior dogs?
Yes, and comfort comes ahead of appearance every time. Sometimes the right answer for an older dog is a shorter, easier groom rather than a perfect breed cut.
What about a matted doodle?
Bring them in and expect an honest conversation. Severe matting is painful to brush out, and a shorter cut is usually the kinder option. That call gets made with you, not for you.
Where exactly are you?
Southwest Gainesville. The exact address is sent when your appointment is confirmed. It is a home salon, so the address is not published.
When should I arrive?
At your appointment time, or up to ten minutes after. Please do not come early.
What if I am late picking up?
You get a text about twenty minutes before your dog is ready, and there is a thirty minute window after that. Past thirty minutes, a $40 fee applies. Appointments run back to back, so a late pickup pushes into somebody else’s slot.
